You know your sun sign. Maybe someone has asked for your Big Three. Maybe Instagram has already informed you which cat picture represents a Gemini moon versus a Sagittarius rising.
But what does any of that actually mean?
Queering Astrology: Understanding Your Chart 101 is an inclusive beginner-friendly class designed to help you understand the foundations of astrology, explore your own natal chart, and learn how to use astrological resources for curiosity, reflection, and fun.
No prior astrology knowledge is required. Come ready to ask questions, investigate your placements, and finally figure out what the hell a rising sign is.

WHAT’S INCLUDED
Your Natal Chart
Each attendee who registers in time will receive a laminated copy of their natal chart.
90-Minute Interactive Presentation
Amanda will guide the class through the building blocks of astrology and help make chart terminology considerably less mysterious.
30 Minutes of Guided Exploration
Use the final portion of class for supervised research, discussion, hands-on chart exploration, and questions.
Important registration note
BRING US YOUR BIRTH DETAILS
Creating your natal chart requires your birth date, birth time, and birth location. Please provide this information when you register.
Your birth time should be as close to the minute as possible. A rough time within about 30 minutes is usually sufficient, but greater accuracy produces a more accurate chart.
If you do not know your birth time, noon will be used when creating your chart. Please understand that this means your chart will most likely not be completely accurate.
Register by August 16 if you want a laminated chart prepared for class. Registrations after August 16 and door-ticket purchases cannot be guaranteed a laminated astrology chart.
Meet your educator
AMANDA D
Amanda D has been an astrology fan, practitioner, and researcher for 17 years. Her interest began in high school when she discovered the natal chart her parents had been given the day after she was born.
After years of self-guided study and reading charts for friends, Amanda connected with a witchy collective in Bloomington, Indiana, where she learned alongside other practitioners before beginning to teach classes and offer professional chart readings.
She now has more than eight years of professional chart-reading and astrology-education experience. She uses astrology to dig deeper in therapy, support her community, weather the political climate, enthusiastically info-dump, and occasionally read her friends to filth.
Amanda describes astrology as being a bit like a diary: a tool for gaining insight into where we have been, where we are, and where we might go. For her, it can create space for growth, healing, reflection, connection, acceptance, and hope.

Ticket policy: Ticket purchases are nonrefundable. Door admission is not guaranteed if the event sells out.
Wicked Eden is on the south side of Columbus, approximately 10–12 minutes from downtown. A COTA bus stop is less than one block from the building.
