Description

Fat is Sexy, Too: Reclaiming Pleasure, Visibility, and Space

Fat people are already living full, erotic, visible lives - and the world’s discomfort with that is not the same thing as truth.

Fat Is Sexy, Too is a candid, empowering discussion on fatness, desire, embodiment, and reclaiming permission to take up space. Taught through the lens of lived experience as a fat sex worker and creator, this class explores the complicated intersection of visibility, desirability, shame, pleasure, and self-worth in a culture that often treats fat bodies as something to hide, fix, or apologize for.

Together, we’ll unpack the realities of dating, sex, attraction, fetishization, confidence, accessibility, public fear, and body reclamation - while also examining the systems that teach fat people to disconnect from themselves in the first place.

About the Educator

Alara Love is a fat sex worker, creator, and community organizer whose work explores the intersection of desirability, shame, visibility, pleasure, and autonomy in a culture deeply shaped by anti-fatness. Her work centers not just on “body positivity”, but on helping people reconnect with themselves as fully human - worthy of visibility, pleasure, dignity, and self-expression exactly as they are.

Blending lived experience, cultural critique, and emotional honesty, Alara has reached thousands online and through community-centered education focused on empowerment, accessibility, and self-expression. She is especially passionate about helping people move beyond performative body positivity and toward something more grounded - autonomy, self-permission, and fully inhabiting their lives now - not someday "when I lose the weight".
